Here at Westbound Boarder, we typically cover local, west coast (USA) mountains and resorts, but in case your New Years Resolution is like mine – plan a snowboard trip to a resort in another country – this article in the telegraph profiles the world’s best.  What I found a bit interesting (and also somewhat depressing, given I don’t get out of the US to ride too often) is that not one resort from the US made the list.  If you were to rank your fav local spots, what would you have on the list?  Leave a comment below, and we’ll compile our own list!

As for me… I think I’ll start planning that trip to Tignes, France ;-)

  1. Hey Andrea – perhaps we should save that cash an extra year for Tignes, Francs – and make it to the 2010 olympics in Whistler/Blackcomb instead?

  2. You know… that’s not a bad idea! :)

  3. No US resorts made it but two British Columbia ones did. Same continent, besides this place is a boarder and skiers paradise. Come on up if you haven’t been! :)

    Sweet site by the way.

  4. Glad you like our site! Turns out that Whistler/Blackcomb is one of our favorites. We have been there a number of times. We were glad to see that Whistler made the list because it really is paradise. We will have to check out Revelstoke, Canada next then. With traveling being so dang expensive, nothing beats proximity! I am always looking for world known places that are not a continent away.
