Ladies AND Gentlemen, want a free pair of snowboard socks??? Then read on!!!

What exactly do you want from your snowboard socks? All I ask for in a perfect pair of snowboard socks is for them to (a) keep my feet warm and (b) not to bunch up in the bottom of my boot causing the most irritating sensation. It really does not sound too hard, right?

You see, I have always battled the cold toe problem while on the mountain. I have tried various kinds of boots and combination’s of socks and I always attributed my cold toes to the poor circulation inherently caused by my tight snowboard boots. So just when I thought that cold feet and snowboarding went hand in hand, we received some Lorpen Snowboard Socks to try on for size.

My husband, Andrea and I tried out these socks for the first time while snowboarding in Vail, Beavercreek and Breckenridge, Colorado - three resorts that reside in the rocky mountains and are fairly cold! To all of our great surprise, these guys did the trick. For the first time I snowboarded all day without having to continuously wiggle my toes to avoid frost bite. I am sold and pretty excited - because even though socks seems like such a small item when it come to all the garb used to outfit yourself on the slopes - cold toes can really make you quite miserable. I have finally found a type of sock that can keep my toes warm. Who knew…it really is all in the sock.

Why are these socks so great? Well lets get technical. These socks are Lorpens TriLayer Technology which features three layers of yarn knit together. (1) The first layer, closest to the skin, is made of PrimaLoft Eco-Polyester which is a synthetic fiber that is designed for performance and comfort (and contains 50% recycled material)! (2) The middle layer is made of merino wool which is a natural fiber that wicks moisture away from the foot while it provides softness (merino wool also features anti-microbial/anti-odor properties and is machine washable) (3) The third layer is made of nylon which makes one durable sock so it will last a while. The nylon is also concentrated in the toe, heel and shin (where socks get the most abrasion). One last thing that the TriLayer Tech offers is a multi density knit which makes the sock more comfortable with a wide instep arch band to support higher arches and reduce foot fatigue.

Still don’t believe me that these socks really are incredible? Well then try them out for yourself as we have a bunch of pairs to give away!

Entering the contest is EASY!!!! Just shoot us an email @ WestboundBoarder@gmail.com and tell us why you need a new pair of snowboard socks. Are your socks old, ratty or a cause of embarrassment? 1. Hey I want socks! My son comes home on the weekend and takes my socks. He doesn’t even ask. I go to my drawer on the following weekend and see that they are gone. He uses them to go snowboarding. That college student without money. Help a poor mom trying to support her sockless son, but wait…..I’m sockless too.

  8. i don’t own a pair of ski/snowboard socks and have never been skiing or snowboarding before. i would like to try one or the other this winter and having some warm and durable socks will be one less article of clothing i have to buy to be ready for the slopes. thus, my motivation to try one of the winter sports increases because they can be pricey, especially if you want to be fully equipped :). also, there is nothing worse than cold and wet feet for making a person uncomfortable in the snow, it just makes the rest of your body even colder!

  9. I love to ski/snowboard. We are actually going in 3 weeks and I only own one pair! Since it’s been a cold winter in Chicago… I’m pretty sure I could wear them daily! :)

  10. I deserve socks because the ones I currently have are full of holes! Hahaha!

  11. My husband needs these socks! He is one of those people that always puts others before himself. I honestly think his skiing socks are from his high school senior class ski trip almost ten years ago! He loves skiing, and while it would be a small gesture I know he would really appreciate it (and I’d love knowing his toes were taken care of!)

  14. I don’t snowboard but these sound like they would be the answer to my cold feet when I am riding my horse all winter. I have tried almost everything but thick socks make my boots too tight, bigger boots make it hard to keep my feet in the stirrups (which can be dangerous when jumping!) and insulated boots won’t even fit in the stirrups at all! (Although they are good for working in the barn, just not riding) These seem like they would be thin enough to get on under my regular riding boots. Please be open minded & see that people doing other sports need warm socks that are not bulky, too!!

  15. I need some because I have NO socks sufficient for snow this winter…and I live in Utah so it’s pretty embarassing!

  16. Why do I need new socks? This pic says it all!

  19. I would love these for my husband who wears his socks out, yet continues to wear them even though they are missing their soles.

  25. I need a new pair of snowboard socks so I can use them in a free class I teach on corporate giving. If I win the socks, I will use this “contest” as an example of how giveaways and blogging can help your cause..possible comparing this to Pepsi Refresh.

I will also, of course, use these socks next winter (Jan. 2011) after my old pair (not anywhere as hi-tech as Lorpen) dies a natural death. Don’t be offended, but I use ski and snowboarding socks to mainly golf in winter. Ski/snowboard socks work well with golf boots now and until late March, early April.

  26. Would love to win a pair, either for my boyfriend or me! I’m teaching my boyfriend how to snowboard (he grew up skiing), so it would be fun to give him a gift. :)

  27. These socks are awesome!
