February 26th, 2010BoardaliciousLast Saturday, it went down at the Cholula Triple Air comp. at Mt. High. My snowboard friend Peter Parra, the best photographer in Cali, sent me some photos from the event, so naturally I wanted to share! (Click photos to enlarge)

January 9th, 2010BoardaliciousSo here I am, sitting in the Denver International Airport waiting for Danielle, Rochelle and Lance to arrive from Portland. That’s right, we’re headed to Vail for an entire week! I’m totally stoked; so far we’ve got plans to ride at Vail (which we rode at last year and LOVED), Breckenridge, and Beaver Creek, and perhaps we’ll make it to another as well. We have a busy few days ahead of us and lots to do on our plate, but I’m so excited to enjoy the trip ahead!
OK, they just arrived so gotta run, but stay tuned for updates!

January 6th, 2010BoardaliciousThis New Year’s Eve, Red Bull’s New Year. No Limits. where Travis Pastrana jumped 269ft. (a world record) in a rally car, was the event everyone, and I mean everyone, was talking about. (Yes, when my mom asks me if I saw “that guy in the car thinggy” on New Year’s Eve, I know everyone was buzzing). But just in case you’re one of the few who missed it, check out the video below!

November 12th, 2009BoardaliciousBroken bones suck. A lot. Especially when they’re your wrists (trust me, I know; I’ve broken mine twice! Once while snowboarding, and once, well… Remember this story?)
Snowboarding and falling pretty much go hand in hand, so here’s a little rule we learned a long time ago that just, well, stuck: Fall on your fists, not on your wrists.
OK, I’ll just come right out and say what I know you all are thinking - The best way to protect your wrists is to not fall at all! Duh moments aside, I really believe that if you’re not falling while riding, at least a few times, then you’re not pushing yourself hard enough or stepping outside of your comfort zone. After all, we all want to become better snowboarders, right? But another part to becoming a good rider is knowing how to protect your body from injury, first and foremost. And your wrists are your most vulnerable body part, so its good to keep this little rule in mind when using your hands to keep you from hitting the ground.
So next time you fall, don’t just fall; fall with a goal in mind - to fall on your fists, and then to get up and do it all over again. Oh, and not come out with a broken wrist in the process.

Perfecting the Jitter Bug this evening, Louie brought his snowboard skills to the dance floor with an impressive back flip down the stairs to an all star sexy smooch at the finish.
Louie Vito has made it through ABC’s Dancing with the Stars through week six, however tomorrow night is the eliminations. Want Louie to make it through week 7? Call up and vote tonight!

October 20th, 2009BoardaliciousAs if snowboarding at 13,487 feet in the back country of Colorado’s San Juan range is not enough, imagine having your own, personal, private, secret halfpipe built there, exclusively for you. Well our dreams just so happen to be Shaun White’s reality as Red Bull is bringing the world Project X.
Project X and Red Bull have given White his very own, private, personal secret halfpipe. White has been hiding out and inventing a plethora of new pipe tricks for the whole world to see on Nov. 3rd at the secret halfpipe home page. Whats not a secret? The pipe is a 550-ft long Superpipe complete with perfect transitions and the first ever on hill foam pit at the bottom - giving White a glorious opportunity to broaden his already extensive resume of pipe tricks - in order to give his very real contender, Kevin Pearce a double cork for his money at the 2010 olympics.
