If you missed it last year, sucks to be you, but don’t let that discourage you. Don’t know what the Campus Rail Jam is, where have you been hiding? Anyways…the Campus Rail Jam Tour is a grassroots snow sports movement, dedicated to promoting the amateur ski and snowboard scene. They support the “up-and-comers” and those who are “about to blow up,” and are down with anyone who knows how to throw down on a snowstick (or sticks!).

What we have this weekend is the finals of this seasons Campus Rail Jam Tour. The best of the tour will be vying for some cold hard cash Downtown Portland, Ore. at Pioneer Square this Friday May 28th from 4pm to 8pm. In addition to witnessing some sick shredders (ladies, gentlemen and skiers too), all sorts of sponsors will be giving away the farm, so don’t miss out it is a guaranteed gay ol time. We had a blast at the jam last year, so see you there!

So the forecast for May 30th downtown Portland, OR is 70 degrees and snow? Well the snow is for sure, and with the variability of Oregon weather, hopefully, so is the sun. Although the forecast for this weekend is looking quite promising – thank you Mother Nature!

If you all have not yet heard about the Cricket Campus Rail Jam, well then, listen carefully. The 10 stop campus tour has ventured to over 8 states across the west this spring and concludes with the Finals in Downtown Portland Pioneer Square, this Saturday afternoon.

The Cricket Rail Jam enthusiasts pride this event as being one that is a, ‘grassroots snow sports movement, dedicated to promoting the amateur ski and snowboard scene.” This is an event where the “up-and-comers” have a chance to show us their skillz – one rail at a time.

On top of witnessing major shred heads (who are hella legit, as each competitor was a podium athlete at some point during the tour), there will be live music, prizes galore, 20 tons of snow and even professional shred celebs – including the Oregon bred judges Jonah Owen and Sammy Carlson, oh and does the name Todd Richards ring any bells?!?! On top of all of this jazz, there is a beer garden to boot.

So if 20 tons of snow, a siiick rail jam and Todd Richards on the mic (this guy is hilarious) have not convinced you yet, well then, what’s your problem? No, just kidding. But, seriously, we hope to see you there – and if we do? We will also have prizes up the wazoo to give away. So if you see the ladies (and gentlemen) with the pink and green Westbound Boarder shirts on, come and say hi. We won’t bite, and we may just hook you up with some sweet steezy.

Saturday, May 30^th, Pioneer Square – Downtown Portland. Beer garden opens at 12pm, Jam commences at 1pm, Finals begin at 3:30pm. Word.
