DSCN3940As much as I hate to admit, I spent a good chunk of my Memorial Day weekend shopping (see, this is what I do when the surf sucks, its only 60 degrees, and I have a four day weekend).  And while walking the streets of downtown Hollywood, I stumbled upon a cute boutique just off Sunset called ‘We The Free.’  One of my favorite brands is ‘Free People,’ so its no wonder why this little shop caught my eye – this fairly new brand is the newer, slightly more vintage tom-boy step-sister to Free People.  They don’t even have their own Web site yet (don’t worry, they’re working on it! You can currently access their online catalog via the Free People Web site) but being “related” to Free People, a well-established fashion brand, definitely gives them a leg up.

We The Free, Hollywood location, opened up near the tail end of last year, just before black Friday (Thanksgiving weekend) – what perfect timing!  Their cloths are very vintage-style; kind of fun but with a cute, almost skater-chic vibe.  It is a bit on the pricier side, with the average tunic running $80 to $100 and the average dress pushing $150.  But the cloths are good quality and very unique, and well worth the long-term investment.  They also have an awesome sale section!

Currently, We The Free has three locations – Hollywood, Brooklyn, and Chicago, and can be found in limited supply at Free People stores.  However, if you can’t make it to a store, they have an awesome Web site with most, if not all, of their product available for online delivery.

While shopping, I snapped a couple of photos of my top picks below, and in case you’d like to pay this boutique a visit its at 1520 North Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles, 90028. And while you’re out, you might as well just make a day of it.  We The Free is located in a cute little square called Space 15 Twenty, alongside an Urban Outfitters (another one of my favs) and across from a bar (coincidentally called “Snack Bar,” which has a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, entrees, and drinks… any Hollywood restaurant that openly serves PBR gets an A+ in my book).  Space 15 Twenty also has occasional fun events, like small concerts in the square and “Blogger Shop Day” (coming this Sunday, May 31 – local fashion bloggers will have tables to sell their cloths and accessories.)

So to sum all this up, check out our photos below, and if you like, and have a “free” day, head on over to We The Free.  Have another favorite clothing brand?  Let us know in the comments below!
